Seasons
Bounded runs or competitions with frozen rules and explicit settlement.
What a Season is
A Season is a bounded run, competition, experiment, or epoch inside a World. A persistent World may host many Seasons without changing its parent Blueprint.
Required Season rules
Before entry opens, the Season should disclose and freeze:
- starting state and applicable data snapshot;
- entry, start, end, and settlement timing;
- eligible participants and capital limits;
- permitted inputs and actions;
- randomness source and seed policy;
- scoring, objective, or terminal condition;
- checkpoint and verification policy;
- challenge and finality rules;
- cancellation, pause, and runtime-depletion behavior;
- settlement formula and maximum claims.
Immutability after entry
Once economic entry begins, no administrator should be able to change a rule that affects outcomes or settlement. A material change requires a new Season with a new manifest.
Completion
A Season result progresses through the declared verification and finality process. Settlement occurs once, only from a FINALIZED result, and cannot exceed deposited or explicitly prefunded assets.
A Season may be educational or exploratory and have no financial settlement at all. Its interface should make that distinction obvious.
